O Divine Guru, please, show Mercy to me, and place me on the right path, by which the bonds of fear may be cut away.
We call the Divine Guru as Dev, in this Shabad by Kabir ji.
We can never understand the powers of Guru. We don’t know how he will cut our bonds. We don’t know freedom. We know slavery to our vices. We know how things are when they go really bad for us. And Daya is Mercy, not the one we have on a beggar which prompts us to give him some money and feel happy. Mercy of our Guru is filled with pure selfless love for us, His creation. Our Guru is completely in love with us, are we?
Lately some thoughts of mine were revolving about the concept of cent per cent involvement and devotion. Yes it can be seen as borderline madness. But I think it is the only thing that can work. And suddenly one day, I came across this Shabad:
I think the part which struck me in this Shabad was the second one. Ek Upar Jatan. That all your efforts should culminate in the desire to meet Waheguru.
