Why do you take such false pride in yourself? You must know that the world is just a dream. None of this is yours, Nanak proclaims this truth.
The other day I was reading about MBA, and how getting through a business school makes you think you are already better than some people. I was thinking I have the same kind of misconceptions about my life after grad school. That is pride for you. It keeps on accumulating in your mind second by second, like some clogged pipe filter with dirty (or stony) water flowing through it constantly. There are two important things to do – first liberate yourself from what you sense as achievements in your life. And second, anything you do (from thereafter) should not be adding to your pridge (even if you theoretically make it zero!). That is indeed really hard and even tougher to maintain for the rest of your life. By grace, we stay humble.
